Hi, I am Niina

Originally from Finland (proud finnish they claim) currently based in St Albans, UK.

The usual story. I know but it is!

So I've been interested in photographing since I was young, partly this is inherited from my father, who always had camera in family events and also did videos.

I've always had my camera with me everywhere taking loads of photos especially during holidays (too many if you ask my other half). Anyway, he did notice my passion for photographing and gave me a proper DSLR camera in 2020 as a present. That was the beginning of my maternity leave thinking I would have loads of time to take photos and learn how to use the camera…but anyone who has children knows that unfortunately that wasn't the case. After life settled, beginning of 2022 I found the time for it, and fell in love.

I attended a course taught by a local professional photographer and following that I have been exploring different kind photography from events and portraits to some commercial shoots. I have attended more photography workshops in London and taken lessons locally, and self taught.

Recently I've found documentary style photography, which got me into it. I've noticed I love to show real moments, laugh, cry, chaos, you name it. Showing the reality of life and all emotions in it.

Something personal about myself: On my free time (when occasionally I have some) I dance West Coast Swing (modern swing dance) and also travel to international dance events. Taking photos of dancers is also fun and extremely challenging, but really enjoy it!

Thank you for spending your time to read my story.
